Non-Construction
Most people think of swinging a hammer when they think about volunteering for Habitat. Due to the tremendous amount of planning and management required to build just one home, we have a constant need for committee members and volunteers to help with various other tasks. Many of our younger volunteers and families who'd like to volunteer together opt to help out here... You don't need to be an expert in any of these fields to help out! There are many tasks that require only a willingness to learn and work with others.
Listed below are some of the non-construction volunteer opportunities. Committees- Members for Committees —
We have many committees which often need assistance or new committee members. Please visit our Committees page for more information about each of our committees
Other Volunteer Opportunities- Special Projects —
We are always looking for talented individuals to help us with various projects. Do you have a knack for designing websites? Would you like to make a delicious lunch for our volunteers? We can always find a place for passionate volunteers.
- Youth Projects —
Habitat for Humanity of South Collin County hosts an annual youth build for students that runs November through April. Other opportunities for youth may become available as well. If you would like more information on the this program please email us at [ email ]
- Partner Family Mentor —
The purpose of the HfHSCC mentor program is to eliminate the complexity and fear many partner families experience during the building and purchasing process. This is accomplished by teaming partner families with a mentor who can guide them through the process of building and purchasing their new home.
Office/Clerical/Teaching- Media, Newsletter, Press —
For anyone interested in writing for the newsletter, issuing press releases, making contact with local media, etc. No experience necessary - just enthusiasm! Contact Scott at [ email ] if you're a candidate.
- Office Assistance —
We are always looking for folks to assist in mailings, answering the phone, and other general office activities.
ReStore — Retail outlet store- ReStore donations vehicle driver —
The ReStore needs volunteers to drive our donations pick-up vehicle one or two days a week usually for 2-4 hours. Sometimes you will need to assist in loading donated materials into the donations vehicle, so the ability to safely lift 50 lbs is desired.
- ReStore in-store volunteers —
The ReStore is always looking for volunteers to work in the store. Check the ReStore page on this site for more information.
