Neighborhood Revitalization

What is Neighborhood Revitalization

All Neighborhood Revitalization programs of Habitat for Humanity of South Collin County are designed to help low-income homeowners by offering home improvements ranging from exterior paint, minor repair and landscaping needs to weatherization and critical home repairs.  Volunteer teams work to improve the condition of homes by performing repairs at minimal costs to homeowners who would be unable to complete home repairs on their own.  Able-bodied homeowners are encouraged to work alongside the volunteers in a cooperative effort.

Critical Home Repair

Critical Home Repair (CHR) is focused on extensive interior and/or exterior work performed to alleviate critical health, life and safety issues or code violations.  CHR helps low-income homeowners who are affected by age, disability or family circumstances and struggle  to maintain the critical integrity of their homes.  Through this program, families are able to reclaim their homes with pride and dignity.  Critical Home Repair projects can include:  change to or repair of materials or components, reconfiguration of space, modification for accessibility, installation or extension of plumbing, mechanical or electrical systems on an existing home, major repairs/replacement of siding, trim, roof, porch, wheelchair ramp, floor, wall and foundation.
