ThriventThrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity

This year, Thrivent Financial has announced an increase in this four-year commitment to $125 million.  Of that amount, $23.2 million will be used in 2008 to build 322 Habitat homes in 42 states.  The increased commitment from Thrivent Financial responds to the interest and involvement of thousands of the nearly 3 million Thrivent Financial members, the successes of the alliance since it was formed in 2005, and the understanding that it has greater potential yet to be realized.

Four homes will be built in North Texas in 2008, two in Collin County and two in Ft. Worth. The Collin County builds will be in Plano and McKinney. The McKinney and Ft. Worth builds will begin in the fall of 2008.

March 29 was the beginning of a new home life – literally for Eiron Young and her son Cameron.

Through a grant from the Sprint Foundation, funding from Northrop Grumman, and matching funds from ESI's 2008 corporate challenge the Benjamin family will soon realize the dream of homeownership.

Kaeli's KruesadeKaeli's Krusade

In October of 2007, a local third-grader named Kaeli contacted our Habitat affiliate and told us about Kaeli’s Krusade and her desire to help others. By mid November, she had raised $1,500 for HfH-SCC to use to help build more homes for families in her community.

Kaeli says "I think you can be a kid and make a difference in the lives of other people."  We think so too!
