ESI’s Challenge Grant Spurs Corporate Sponsorship
The challenge grant worked this way – for each dollar of new corporate sponsorships HfH-SCC raised during the challenge, ESI would match it dollar for dollar, up to $130,000. Beginning at the Gala and ending May 9 of this year, HfH-SCC secured three new corporate sponsors and increased the level of sponsorship by a fourth to raise a total of $142,500 in new sponsorship funds, exceeding the goal! After the match by ESI, the resulting total of $272,500 raised will be used to help buy materials and land for six homes being built in 2007 and early 2008. The 2008 Gala offered an excellent venue for ESI, St Andrew United Methodist Church, PepsiCo Business Solutions and UCT to launch a $190k Corporate Challenge. This group will match new funds from companies in our community up to the challenge amount, in minimum amounts of $2,500. This is an excellent way to double the impact of a donation. Sprint and Northrop Grumman both stepped up to the challenge at the Gala by pledging $16,250. First Preston Management pledged $30,000, JoDee Capital L.P. $5,000 and CCIG pledged $10,000 towards the 2008 challenge. However, as this is a challenge, if we do not match the remaining amount with new funds, over and above what companies gave last year, we will lose it. The pledge commitment must be made before May 16, 2008. Time is running out. If you would like to learn more about the 2008 challenge please contact Development Chair Scott Blair ( or 214-405-3134). |
