Habitat for Humanity of South Collin County is always looking for lots in targeted communities. The cost of the land is the most expensive line item in a new house. Our budget for land purchase on a typical house ranges between $12,000 and $20,000. Unfortunately, we are finding that land costs are skyrocketing in the areas we have been primarily building. We are looking for land in Allen, Plano, Wylie, and other areas in South Collin County. As the area continues to grow, securing land for Habitat for Humanity of South Collin County home projects becomes more challenging.
